My first real experience with woodworking came in 2000 when I borrowed a scroll saw from my dad. It was a very basic saw which my dad didn't have much success with. I did a few fretwork projects and soon found the art of Intarsia. Over the next approximate 10 years I did some basic projects but never fully got into the art. During that time my dad liked what I was doing and decided to try again with an upgraded scroll saw, he has since become an avid scroll sawer. It was upon his second upgrade that I purchased his original upgrade and really started doing a lot more art.

Since then I have made many Intarsia projects and dedicate a lot of free time to the art. A couple years ago I upgraded my scroll saw and decided to enter some competitions. I have won awards at both the Ontario Woodworking Championships and the Canadian Woodcarving Championships.
My passion for this art let me attend many woodworking shows in my area over the years. Looking at these shows, I was always fascinated with the "Bandsaw Boxes" when I saw them or books bout them, and decided to purchase a bandsaw for the sole purpose of making these boxes.
I am just an amateur in the arts of Intarsia and Bandsaw Boxes but I truly believe in what I do and that I do it well. None of my projects are perfect but no truly handmade piece of art really is perfect. I have seen this quote a number of times from people who sell handmade objects and I can not think of a better way to describe what is means to me when someone buys a piece of art that I created.
"When buying HANDMADE, your buying more than just an OBJECT. You are buying hundreds of hours of failures and experimentation. You are buying days, weeks & months of frustration and moments of PURE JOY. You aren’t just Buying a THING, your buying a piece of heart, part of a SOUL, a moment of someones life. Most importantly, your buying the ARTIST more time to do something they are PASSIONATE about"
